About The Litter:
Rigby (Multi Group Winning NBISS GCh LAMZ Eleanor Rigby), has had a very illustrious career in the show ring, receiving the Best of Breed award at the 2013 BTCA National Specialty, Multiple Group Wins and Placements, huge Best of Breed awards, including the 2013 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in NYC, National Specialty and National-Weekend Award of Merits and many other accolades. She finished her championship with 5 major wins and went on to became the first Grand Champion Bedlington Terrier in AKC history. She has been in the top rankings of the breed in 2009, 2010 and finished 2012 as the #2 Bedlington Terrier/#1 Owner-Handled Bedlington Terrier in the United States.
Rigby had her first litter in 2011, before returning to the show ring for another year as a special. That litter was sired by Vegas (MBISS GCh LAMZ Viva Las Vegas RN SE CA RATI), of which she has had two puppies in show rings in the United States and one being shown in Canada. Her son, Barnum (Ch LAMZ Greatest Show on Earth) finished his championship at 11mos old with 5 major wins. Another son, Jack (Ch LAMZ Cotton Candy and Cracker Jack) finished his championship with 3 major wins. Jack had great success in the show ring, including going Winners Dog at the 2012 BTCA Floating National Specialty, Best in Sweepstakes at the 2012 BTCA Floating National Specialty and a Best of Breed over top-ranked specials from the classes!
The sire of this litter is Marcus, Ch Trevelyan's Quiet Playing Games, a Dutch-bred, Swedish-owned male who visited the United States in March 2013 to compete at the BTCA National Specialty. Marcus showed three weekends in the USA, and was Best of Winners at the 2013 BTCA National Specialty. He received 14 points, with 3 major wins during his first stay in the USA, needing just one single to finish his American Championship. He made a return trip to the United States in October, 2013 and finished his AKC Championship during his first weekend back in the States! Although he was too young to become a champion under the FCI system at the time of this breeding, he had already done very well in the Swedish show rings.
Marcus is a beautiful dog with an exceptional head which is both long and well-filled. Going around the ring, he has unparalleled suspension, with well-balanced, open reach and drive. He is a larger male, but well within standard. His sweet temperament tops off all the other atributes of this lovely male.
This breeding gives us an interesting pedigree combination. Going back to the same Swedish lines that are found behind Rigby, Marcus also brings in the addition of novel English and Norwegian bloodlines to our breeding program, as well as tying in the American Sandon N' Oakhill lines that we have used before and have had great success with when combined with our dogs. We are hoping to preserve the impeccable sidegaits on both parents, their correct coat color and texture and bring in Marcus' lovely head and Rigby's beautiful front assembly. While we expect mostly blue puppies from this combination, there is a slim chance that this litter could produce liver puppies.
UPDATE: Rigby gave birth to 4 puppies, 2 males and 2 females in May 10, 2013. All of the puppies are blue in color, although they will all carry the liver gene. All four of the puppies will be shown in the future. Three of the puppies finished their AKC Championships at or before 10 months of age. One received her first Rally-O title at 10 months of age and her Grand Championship by 9 months of age.
This litter was our French litter, as they were born on the anniversary of the day that Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette ascended the throne as the kind and queen of France.
