Rigby (Multi Group Winning NBISS GCh LAMZ Eleanor Rigby CA RATI RATN CGC), has had a very illustrious career in the show ring, receiving Multiple Group Wins and Placements, huge Best of Breed awards, including the 2013 BTCA National Specialty and 2013 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in NYC, National Specialty and National-Weekend Select Bitch and Awards of Merit, and many other accolades. She finished her championship with 5 major wins and went on to become the first Grand Champion bedlington terrier in AKC history. She has been in the top rankings of the breed in 2009 and 2010, and finished 2012 as the #2 Bedlington Terrier/#1 Owner-Handled Bedlington Terrier in the United States.
Rigby had her first litter in 2011, before returning to the show ring for another year as a special. That litter was sired by Vegas (MBISS GCh LAMZ Viva Las Vegas RN SE CA RATI RATN CGC), of which she has two puppies in show rings in the United States and one is being shown in Canada. Her son, Barnum (Ch LAMZ Greatest Show on Earth) finished his Championship at 11mos old with 5 major wins and is on his way to his Grand Championship. Another son, Jack (Ch LAMZ Cotton Candy and Cracker Jack) finished his championship with 3 major wins. Jack had great success in the show ring, including going Winners Dog at the 2012 BTCA Floating National Specialty, Best in Sweepstakes at the 2012 BTCA Floating National Specialty and a Best of Breed over top-ranked specials from the classes!
Rigby's second litter, the "french litter," was born in 2013. The sire of that litter was Marcus (Ch Trevelyan's Quiet Playing Games), a beautiful liver dog who was bred in the Netherlands and lives in Sweden. Marcus finished his Championship in the United States in three weekends of showing, going Best of Winners at the 2013 BTCA National Specialty. That litter produced our superstar-littermates, Vogue (RBIS GCh LAMZ Strike A Pose RN CAA RATI CCGCA), Tony (GCh LAMZ Let Them Eat Cake CA) and Bubbles (Ch LAMZ Champagne Wishes). Before their second birthdays, these three littermates had already made their mark on the show ring. Vogue earned 8 Group 1's and a Reserve Best in Show during her first year as a special, ending the year as the #1 Bedlington Terrier Bitch (All-Systems)/#2 Overall in Breed Points in the United States in 2014. Vogue was Best of Breed at the 139th annual Westminster Kennel Club dog show. Tony is just starting out his career as a special, but he and his junior handler have taken top honors in the junior showmanship rings around the country, most recently going Best Junior Handler at the 139th annual Westminster Kennel Club dog show. Bubbles finished her championship with ease, and was Reserve Winners Bitch at the 2014 BTCA National Specialty at 10 months of age. In her first two litters, Rigby has produced 5 AKC Champions!
The sire of this litter will be announced after the breeding has taken place. He is an incredibly beautiful dog that we think compliments Rigby perfectly. He has a tremendous headpiece, a dense coat, a very nice rear and beautiful proportions. This will be an outcross for our breeding program, but we are incredibly excited about what the sire's pedigree will bring to our line. He comes down from several notable families of dogs and we can't wait to bring a piece of those lines into our program. Any serious inquiries from show homes will be told who the sire of this litter will be, at our discretion, before the breeding takes place.
This litter will be bred when Rigby comes back into season, likely around June 2015. Depending on several factors, it might be pushed off until her next season, likely around December 2015.
