We've been taking it easy this year, attending fewer shows and enjoying some time off for us and the dogs!
» Vogue remains #1 Bedlington Terrier Bitch (All-Systems) and recently picked up 5 Group Placements (2 Group 2's, 1 Group 3, and 2 Group 4's) over the course of two back-to-back show weekends. She earned her 9th Terrier Group 1 earlier this spring, as well!
» Shilling is back out competing with Laurie at the helm and has been participating in the AKC's National Owner Handled Series. In this spring's NOHS competitions, he's won a BEST IN SHOW, 4 Group 1's, a Group 3 and a Group 2.
» Lydia & Tony made history AGAIN, going Best Junior Handler at the 2015 World Dog Show in Milan, Italy! We could not be more proud of what these two have accomplished!
» Kei, a puppy from our Elphie x Finn litter made his ring debut in April, winning Best of Breed from the classes, made the cut in the terrier group (with over 400 terriers in competition) and took a Puppy Group 2!

This past weekend in Louisville, Kentucky was the BTCA National Specialty. Although most of our dogs are very young for that level of competition, we are very happy with how they did! We only showed Fri-Sun, but had some great wins and many class placements!
» Vogue made the cut in breed on Friday and was 3rd Award of Merit at the BTCA National Specialty. She also competed in Rally-O for the first time and received her first two qualifying scores on Friday and Sunday! She only needs one more qualifying score for her Rally Novice (RN) title, at just 10 months of age!
» Tony was 1st Award of Merit at the BTCA National Specialty at just 10 months of age!
» Shilling was 2nd Award of Merit at the BTCA National Specialty. He only showed the one day, and is now going to enjoy retirement from the conformation ring to focus on performance events!
» Rigby made the cut in the breed both at the BTCA National Specialty and on Sunday and was awarded first place in the Brood Bitch class at the Specialty! Two of her 10 month old puppies (Vogue and Tony) received Awards of Merit!
» Bubbles won her Sweepstakes class and won the 9-12 month regular class and went on to be Reserve Winners Bitch at the BTCA National Specialty!
» Finn, Torrent, Callie, Rosie and Jill all had great class placements throughout the weekend!

We have just gotten back from an incredible trip to Westminster (held at the piers and Madison Square Garden in NYC). This year, we had 6 dogs from the LAMZ line competing: Rigby, Shilling, DeeDee, Vogue, Tony and Roadie. There were 18 bedlingtons entered, so we are thrilled to have walked away with TWO of the ribbons given out in our breed! Rigby came away as Best of Opposite and her daughter, Vogue was Select Bitch, giving this mother-daughter duo the top two awards for bedlington females at the show! Vogue was only 9 months and 1 day old on show day, which we believe makes her the youngest dog of any breed to be competing at Westminster this year!

» Vogue has hit the ground running in the show ring, taking Winners Bitch/Best of Winners/BEST OF BREED from the classes, over an entry of 10 bedlingtons and went on to take a Group 2 in an incredibly strong terrier group! This was just her second show, and gave her a 4-point major! She followed it up by going Winners Bitch again on Sunday for another 4-point major, bringing her up to 8 points in just 4 shows!
» Tucker has also had an incredible start to his show career! He picked up two points in Salisbury, Maryland two weeks ago, and then this past weekend, he went Winners Dog on Friday for a 4-point major and was Winners Dog/Best of Winners on Sunday for a second 4-point major! He is now up to 10 points in just two weekends of showing, all at just 6.5mos old!

We went to Dunkirk, NY for 2 days of conformation and 3 days (2 trials each day) of Coursing Ability Testing. The LAMZ Crew did incredibly well! We ran Dee, Shilling, Vegas, Rumor, Kate and Elphie and came away with 24 qualifying runs out of 34 total runs for the 6 dogs! Shilling was the coursing star of the weekend with a perfect 6 qualifying runs. Rumor and Kate each had 5 qualifying runs, Vegas qualified all 4 times he ran, Dee qualified 3 times and Elphie qualified once.
» Shilling, Vegas, Rumor, Kate and Dee all received at least 3 qualifying runs to earn their Coursing Ability (CA) titles! Shilling, Rumor and Kate are halfway, or over halfway, to their Coursing Ability Advanced (CAA) title, which requires 10 qualifying runs at CAT trials.

These wins put her up over 800 All-Breed points this year towards her 2012 ranking (meaning that over the course of this year, she has defeated over 800 dogs at various shows across the country by winning Best of Breed and placing in the terrier groups!).

» It's been a busy few weeks here at LAMZ with lots of nice wins and a beautiful new litter of puppies joining the family!
» Rigby has consistently been winning breeds and placing in groups this year with two more Group 3's in Virginia and a Group 3 in Maryland recently. We took her to Houston for the 5 days of terrier specialties and all-breeds and she went Select Bitch 4 of the 5 days, right behind the #1 Bedlington. She is ranked #2 in the breed this year (CC Breed Points 6/12) and has been so much fun to show!
» Shilling has taken 6 months out of the show ring to grow up, mature and just spend some time being a dog, he came to Houston with us and went Select Dog 3 of the days and then Best of Breed on Sunday over an entry of 14 (10 of which were specials!). We could not be prouder of his re-debut to the show ring, he will be making occasional appearances back in the show ring in preparation for next year.
» Harry came down from New England to show in Maryland, where he picked up a 3-point major win to finish his championship! He is the second from his litter to finish.
» Jack visited us from North Carolina to start his show career and over the course of 6 shows, picked up 9 points with two major wins! He has gone back home to grow up for a few months and we will be bringing him to the floating National Specialty in November!

The LAMZ Bedlington Terriers had an incredible weekend in West Virginia!
» Vegas was only entered on Thursday as there was a Veteran competition and he only needed 1 single to finish his Grand Champion title. We knew there would be at least 1 class dog there, so there would be the opportunity to finish his title. He not only finished his Grand Championship by going Best of Breed, he also went on to win the regular Terrier Group 1, the Veteran Terrier Group 1 and finally BEST VETERAN IN SHOW!
» Rigby went Best of Breed the other 3 days that weekend and followed up her wins with Back-to-Back-to-Back Terrier Group 3's!
» Kate had a great weekend, picking up two more singles towards her championship. She is now singled out and hunting majors to finish her championship! On Saturday, she went Best Puppy in Breed, Terrier Puppy Group 1 and BEST PUPPY IN SHOW!
» Pippa picked up another single towards her championship and now only needs a major and 4 singles to finish her Champion title!
» Barnum went Winners Dog/Best of Winners on Thursday for another single towards his championship. He now has 5 points (with one major win) at 10 months old!

We just returned from the BTCA National Specialty in Louisville, Kentucky and the LAMZ team put in a strong performance!
» Vegas came out of retirement and recieved 3 Awards of Merit! He received the 1st Award of Merit at the supported entry on Friday, another one at the National Specialty on Saturday and finally another Award of Merit on Sunday.
» Rigby made it to the final cut in breed on three of the days and picked up the 4th Award of Merit at the BTCA Supported Entry on Friday.
» Derby received the 3rd Award of Merit on Friday and made it to the final cut in breed at the BTCA National Specialty.
» Pippa went BEST IN SWEEPSTAKES at the BTCA National Specialty on Saturday, and placed in and won her class every day over the circuit.
» Harry won his class at the BTCA National Specialty on Saturday and finished off the week going WINNERS DOG/BEST OF WINNERS for a 5-Point Major on Sunday!
» Kate showed well in the 9-12mos puppy class and placed every day in a really nice lineup!
» Barnum also showed very well and received some nice placements, including a 4th in a large and competitive sweepstakes class.
» Gigi our briard client won her Open Bitch class all four days, went Reserve Winners Bitch to two majors and finally finished up the weekend going Winners Bitch for a 3-point major!

It's hard to believe the new show season is already upon us! We had a spectacular 2011 show year with Shilling ending the year as the #1 Bedlington Terrier Dog (all-systems) in the United States and both Roadie and Vegas were also in the top-20 Bedlington Terriers.
2012 is already well under way with the LAMZ team! After taking maternity leave for 2011, Rigby is back in the ring and doing very well. Starting off the year with a strong group placement, she has continued racking up the breed wins here in the mid-atlantic area. We eagerly anticipate another strong year with her!
» Kate and her owner, Debbie Buckman, have been putting in strong performances so far this year, picking up 3 more singles over the course of 2 weekends! She is now up to 7 points at 10 months of age.
» Pippa and her junior handler, Lydia Frey, have been doing tremendously on the show circuit! Already up to 7 points with a major win, we have no doubt that these two are going to be a team to watch! Lydia and Pippa have also been competing in Junior Showmanship and have a win already in 2012.
» Barnum our Rigby x Vegas son, has already picked up 4 points with a major win at 7 months old! This young male looks a lot like his sire Vegas and we hope he will follow in his pawprints! We are excited to show him at the BTCA National Specialty next month!
» Desmond owned by Lindsey Davis, has picked up another single early in the show season! He will be out this spring/summer working on his championship!
» Harry, owned by Kim McCormick, won his first single a few weeks ago. This stunning Shilling son is going to have a tremendous show career ahead of him!

As we wrap up our show season, we are so proud to look back on this year and see how well all of the LAMZ dogs and our extended "family" have done in show rings around the country. With two beautiful litters this year and continued success for the rest of our dogs, we anxiously look forward to the new year and to what the future holds for each and every one of them! We have one more show weekend remaining this year, the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, an invitational show in Orlando, Florida. We can't wait to see all of our friends from around the country!
» Shilling has had an incredible year and we couldn't be more proud of his accomplishments this year. Little did we know when we brought this 15-month-old puppy our in January that this year would turn into an incredible adventure for all of us. We can never thank all of our friends, family and supporters enough for being members of "Team Shark!" While at times his age got the best of him, the future looks bright for our little "Sharkey!"
» Elphie also had a great year, especially considering she was always competing against Shilling. She and Laurie picked up several really nice Best of Breed awards and even a Group Placement, all before her second birthday.

» Shilling has continued his winning ways this fall! He is still currently the #1 Bedlington Terrier in the US (Breed Points) and has been picking up some really nice breed wins and group placements lately. He celebrated his second birthday on September 19 and although it's hard to believe he's accomplished so much as such a young age, we are so proud of him and can't wait to see what the future has in store for him.
» Derby finished his championship with ANOTHER major at just 1 year and 2 weeks of age! This time, a 4-point major at the Devon Dog Association show over Montgomery weekend! Way to go Derby and his co-owner/handler/groomer Linda Young! We're so proud of you!
» Elphie has continued doing well this fall, picking up many more points towards her Grand Championship!

» Shilling has had an incredible few weekends over the past month. We went to Houston, Texas where he picked up 3 large Best of Breeds and made the cut in the group two of those days. Following that weekend, we went to Canfied, Ohio where he won the breed 3 more days over very large entries and made the cut in the group there two of those days as well. We took a weekend off to relax, but then went to Colorado where he won Best of Breed both days following the regional specialty! Wow what a fabulous summer he's had!
» Derby picked up two 5-POINT MAJORS in Ohio, so all he needs to finish his championship now is 2 singles. Congratulations Linda Young!

» Shilling has had an incredible few weeks here. In addition to picking up several more nice breed wins, he picked up his 6th Group 1 of the year under Dr. Gerard Penta a few weeks back in VA. We then took him out to California for the BTCA Floating National/BTCW Regional Specialties/Great Western where he went Best of Breed on Friday for his first BEST IN SPECILALTY SHOW award!! He is learning to be a show dog more and more each weekend and we are so happy with his progress so far this year.
» Elphie has also had a few good weekends here. She recently picked up several singles as well as a Best of Breed award and another major towards her Grand Championship.
» Roadie and his handler Morgan Miller have been doing extremely well in the juniors rings on the east coast! They have many many many wins and placements this year and are working each weekend on improving their junior ranking!
